First Sonisphere Announcement Has Landed!

Sonisphere Festival 2012 Lineup Announcement

Sonisphere is back for its 4th year on the UK festival circuit, and we here at Hevypetal reckon that the first lineup announcement has been well worth the wait for festival-goers.

Headliners come in the form of KISS, Queen (with Adam Lambert filling the boots of the legendary Freddie Mercury) and Faith No More, with a similarly impressive undercard featuring Evanescence, The Darkness and Incubus amongst others.

The legendary Refused make their first (and so far only) UK appearance in over 13 years, and recently-reformed Aussie bruisers I Killed The Prom Queen are also set to return to the UK after a lengthy absence from these shores. Special mention also goes to prog titans Mastodon, who will be playing last year’s universally acclaimed The Hunter in its entirety.

Also on the bill are Within Temptation, Wolfmother, Tim Minchin, Flogging Molly, Fields Of The Nephilim, Lacuna Coil, Gojira, Katatonia, Ghost, Marilyn Manson, Cypress Hill, The Blackout, Andrew W.K. and Switchfoot, with special guests and many more bands to be announced over the coming months.

The festival will take place between the 6th and 8th of July at Knebworth House, with tickets going on sale this Thursday at 9am. Stay tuned to Hevypetal for more news on the festival as it arrives!
